It’s been more than a week since his reinstatement from a yearlong suspension, but San Benito CISD Superintendent of Schools Antonio G. Limón has wasted no time reversing some of the more controversial decisions made by his predecessor.

Limón confirmed on Thursday, June 12, that the demotion of SBCISD Police Chief Santiago R. Garcia and suspension of Maintenance Director David Garcia have been overturned with said department heads being reinstated to their respective positions effective immediately.

“This was done in the best interest of the district,” Limón said of the chief’s and maintenance director’s reinstatements.

To Gimme a Break: I can hear your shouting all the way to my home. If we don’t ask or question then how can we understand.

And to Ay Dios Mio: I am assuming that the sign that reads “Garcia’s Ranch” is probably at his office, which I see ok. That’s neat. It’s not any different from principals, secretaries, etc. decorating their offices to their taste.

I wonder if that was brought up by Dr. Cantu? OMG

    TO MAYO: Exactly!

To Bad Dog: Maybe the district is tooo lax. Maybe Mr. Limon should really look at that. The OVERALL picture. When I worked at a local hospital we could only be late 5 times within calendar year. They fired people for clocking in for someone else, they fired people for stealing, etc. If someone forged someone’s signature; fired. No grievance procedure like the school district.

    Thanks for reading my blog!

Come on Rosalinda, I thought you’d be more intelligent . All I keep reading from you is how much you back up your board etc.etc. no matter the consequences. I believe you need to stop pretending to be naive when you know for a fact where your party of followers (Tumberlinson) stand. What doesn’t surprise me is how your clan has no shame whatsoever in showing its true colors. I just don’t know when all this one sided crap is going to stop. What the board members should be thinking of is putting the children first. Instead of being on the same page for the sake of the children; one side doesn’t like the other, and so forth, what both sides need to do is get over it. Do what is best for the district instead of trying to top each other on who has the power to make the decisions. Just remember everyone will be held accountable one day, so I hope for goodness sake all board members make the right decisions. I forgot one thing Thanks for reading my blog!

Employees use co. Vehicles to go to and from home and work if employee is on call. Done by DPS employees, County sheriffs and so on. But not for personal use. Also allow employees to pay their respects on the clock is proper. It is appreciated by the family and earned by years of service. Think of funerals for PD and fire dept personnel. Police vehicles, fire trucks are used in large numbers. This is not an issue at all.

Rosalinda, the only reason the maintenance dir drives a school vehicle to and from work is because HE IS ON CALL 24 HOURS A DAY. You and all the other non district people who comment without understanding the job would be surprised at how many things go wrong after working hours at our school buildings and campuses. What would you rather him do? Drive his vehicle to the main. barn, go in, find the keys for a truck, then drive to the emergency call, wasting all that time? Then repeat it to go home? How many employees are on call 24 hours a day, even when they are on vacation? Get real!!

At Rosie: Do you also find it ok for the maintenance director to use school propertly for his own personal needs? Like, well lets just say, signs that read Garcia Ranch, Dallas Cowboys, or Longhorns. To my recollection there isnt any schools in SB with those names, well maybe, longhorns for Leal elementary. We’ll give him that one, but come on people! Seriously! Maybe I’ll just ask Limon if I can borrow some cash from the SB school district for personal use. Wait, that may be too much for him and he’ll have to hire a consultant for that decision.

Wake up people! Only in SB…

Glad to read that Maintenance Director has been re-instated. Regarding Police Chief: NO COMMENT!

One interesting fact that I found out prior to his suspension was that the Maintenance Director had the privilege of having use of a maintenance vehicle to and from work? And maybe the one before him?
The only time I could justify the maintenance director having a vehicle 24/7 would be like during a hurricane warning or crisis. He would have the authority to decide that.

Speaking of decisions, I find absolutely anything wrong with the maintenance director having the authority of giving employees permission to go on company vehicles; on company time; to go pay their respects on behalf of the school district when a fellow employee passes.

It is not any different from when a bus driver passes away, or a school teacher passes away and they are allowed to pay their respect during school hours. What’s up with that!

Mr. Garcia has earned his job thru his education, loyalty to SBCISD, years of employment with SBCISD.

Thank your for reading my blog!

  1. People this is exactly what you wanted and these are the results!!!!! So, let me guess this straight, you had a DR.CANTU( doctor in education ) who recommend the these two employees to be reprimanded and than you have Limon who comes in along with his coalition and over turns the ruling.. Please that’s a joke and political move that smells like s***.. But, I promise you one thing, one day this self proclaimed religious man ( Limon) will have to face the law and we’ll see if his religious prays saves him than.. Everything will come full circle people and it’s coming fast.. So start making you popcorn and get yourself a cold drink because this is gonna get good…

There is a difference between a religious man and one that has a relationship with Christ. So please don’t confuse the two. As the good book says and I paraphrase don’t fear what man can do to you, but fear God because he is the ultimate judge. However, the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross has freed us from the law of sin and death. If you are in Christ Jesus you are a new creature olds things have planned away behold all things have become new. Self proclaimed or not that relationship with Christ makes you bold about your faith and you don’t hide your faith or your trust in God. When all is said and done God knows your heart, and we can’t fool God. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confuse that Jesus Christ is Lord!!’ If you find this emptiness in your life , God is waiting for you. He is a loving and forgiving God!!!
