RIO HONDO – A Rio Hondo ISD police officer may soon be back to work after he was struck by a vehicle on Monday.
Ezequiel Rios, an officer with the RHISD Police Department, was directing traffic at Rio Hondo Elementary School, located at 700 N. Reynolds St., when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a parent.
The incident reportedly occurred at 7:40 a.m. Monday, May 26.
“While directing traffic in the morning, Officer Rios was struck by a parent dropping off a student,” RHISD Superintendent of Schools Ismael Garcia said.
