The investigation into Antonio G. Limón, who’s currently on paid suspension as the San Benito CISD Superintendent of Schools, has exceeded the $20,000 mark with more than $5,000 alone spent on travel expenses.
Houston-based law firm Guerra and Farah PLLC – the attorneys hired by the SBCISD Board of Trustees via a highly-controversial 4-3 vote to conduct the investigation into Limón – charged the school district $7,584.33 then $5,387.32 for investigative work conducted from Feb. 10-27 and from March 3-21, respectively. That brings the current cost of the probe, which was launched in September 2013, to $20,808.65.

The citizens of San Benito need to vote smart. We need to stop the personal vendettas and let the past be the past. The majority board members need to be held accountable for the waste of tax payers dollars. The money should be going to what the students need. Come on San Benito let’s stop being the laughing stock of the RGVLS and vote for qualified educated people.
This is a wasteful witch hunt. There needs to be a criminal investigation of the SBCISD School Board.
I agree with you WTP
The actions of the majority of which 2 are re-running speaks to who they are…. spenders of our money that belongs to our precious children.
Shameful!
Where is the list of allegations, mrs. president?
The 4 have spent and spent this district’s money. So very disappointed in the sister.
Why haven’t Medrano, Cruz and Leal demanded this list?? And if so, where is it?? The problem is that these board members don’t answer to their constituents. They’re too busy trying to protect their seats than to protect our taxpayer $$. Let’s vote ALL the incumbents OUT! It’s time we take back our District.
What I have seen they have tried to stop what’s been going on. But when theirs a majority that’s concerned more about fixing their own vendettas you won’t get anywhere. People need to understand it’s about helping our school district and kids and not for the benefit of themselves. Don’t lose site of what you were elected for which is for the better of the district. Not yourselves!
When oh when is this investigation going to be over…. this entire board, especially the board president, are to be held accountable for WASTING THE TAXPAYERS MONEY! An entire year (almost) has come and gone and no end in sight. Vote smart SB people!!
You’re half right. Leal voted against “pushing” Joe D out.
“make sure you have you facts”
@Coincidence
I totally agree with you but if that’s the case you have 2 board members ( Medrano and Leal) that pushed Joe D Gonzalez out and paid him a hell of a lot more money than Mr.Lemon will get including the Attorney fees!! That’s the unfortunate part about people talking and just yapping in the wind. Before, anyone wastes their time blogging and trying to discredit politicians, make sure you have you facts just the truth will affect the people your trying to protect!!!! Vote smart… I sure will …
At Truth 2, your facts aren’t 100% either. You forget to mention that Joe D. didn’t put up a fight and he left very, very quietly. Gee, I wonder why?? Maybe they agreed not to disclose what they found if he left quietly? Just ask him. Don’t draw attention to Mr. Gonzalez. He has an election coming up soon.
How much more will the taxpayers have to pay because the former maintenance director wanted revenge? Now even his son is running for school board hoping that the Huerta voting block can get him elected. How much will it cost the district to settle future legal issues with the suspended superintendent? The blind leading the blind!!!
Waste of tax dollars! So, if nothing comes out with this investigation, what happens next?
The board majority should be required to pay the district back all the cost of the investigation they voted for.
@Coincidence: You are very right… the majority should be required to pay back the money…. they spend money like it is their own checking account… hold them accountable, I say.
