RIO HONDO – The Rio Hondo Independent School District has confirmed that at least 20 employees have been notified that they will be laid off at the end of the current fiscal year.
RHISD Superintendent of Schools Ismael Garcia corroborated reports made about the impending layoffs.
“The reality of the economics is that unfortunately our school district is going through some financial difficulties,” Garcia said on Monday.
