Former Cameron County Precinct 3 Constable Joe Cavazos left big shoes to fill when he died earlier this year. But it’s fitting that his son, Rolando Cavazos, will be doing just that
Joe Cavazos served over 43 years in law enforcement, including two terms as the Constable beginning on Feb. 25, 2006. He was serving his second term as Constable, following his re-election in 2012, when he succumbed to cancer on Jan. 26. He was 64 years old.

Typical Valley move!!
Wow, your comment was not necessary. Keep all negatives comments to yourself. Apparently you did not know this man.
He was a great man. What other man would fill his boots but his own son who is also very qualified. Some people are never satisfied. By the way, I put my name what is yours?
Very appropriate choice. Joe was a big man with a bit heart. My family is very proud to have known this giant of a man in character, kindness, and good values. Joe, Rest in Peace. We will never forget you.
