emergency-lightsThe San Benito Police Department is still investigating an incident which left a man with a gunshot wound to the neck in mid January.

According to SBPD Assistant Chief of Operations Michael Galvan, the investigation has been marred by what he described as “conflicting stories.”

The investigation stems from a shooting that occurred on Thursday, Jan. 9, in the vicinity of Zaragosa Street near Fred Booth Elementary School. The shooting landed 28-year-old Eric Alonzo in the hospital with a gunshot wound to the neck; he has since refused to cooperate with investigators, Galvan said.
