San Benito CISD Police Chief Santiago R. Garcia confirmed on Friday that he has been reassigned to the position of police officer, effective immediately.

According to Garcia, Interim Superintendent Dr. Ismael Cantu informed him of the demotion in rank via a reassignment letter, which Garcia said stipulates that the district will continue to pay his $60,000 annual salary until the end of the year.

The San Benito News has requested a copy of the reassignment letter in question.

That board president had no business at a district meeting… I don’t care that the interim supt invited her. No respectable supt would ever invite the board president. Dr cantu needs to go back and read HIS RESPONSIBILITIES! Get a clue people, he is enjoying the $500 a day and MILEAGE FROM MCALLEN to do the work of Gonzales. Soooo disappointed.

Jesus Chuy Aguilera is a man that craves attention and will do anything to get it. He wants to be important. He has more power than any board member. Since he controls his daughter the other three know they must treat him with kids gloves. He is known to drop in on schools and departments unannounced. Central office is his hang out. He has his special people that he visits. According to people that have heard him speak, he has his list of people he is going to get fired. The former police chief was one of them. So was the suspended superintendent. The maintenance direct allegedly on the list as well as the assistant superintendent. I understand the former police chief even filed a report with the SBPD when Chuy made a threatening gesture of running his finger across the throat when saying the chief was going down. Chuy has openly spoken about biting a piece of man’s ear during a fight. I can understand why the former chief was concerned about his safety.

I do wish that Chuy would run for board. If elected he would have to follow certain rules and policies that he now completely ignores. If his daughter runs again that would mean a father/daughter, brother/sister on the board. Oh, I forgot we already have that.

What possible business does Chuy have being at the SBCISD police meeting?

Anybody that knows the board president, can you please relay this question to her, ask her, have her comment, then get back to me. Please.

Well, a meeting was held by the interim chief with the police officers and present was the board president. Micromanaging again! Also Chuy Aguilera was meeting with the interim chief giving him his marching orders. This board is controlled by Chuy. I hope he runs for board, but why should he. He already gets everything he wants!

Link summary: Yliana is making decisions for her own personal gain, her motives are suspicious and are warranted after reading this article. That’s fine if she wants to be an asst. super in Bville, but declare the fact the purchase was made with ties to a potential boss who has investments in the security related purchase.
I strongly encourage everyone to either consider finding a highly qualified and ethical person: family member, friend or neighbor to run for a school board position who has pride in the SBCISD COMMUNITY or vote for a different party. Please, and not someone who wants to join the Fab 4 because they’re cousins or lovers.

I’d hate to be involved in the school poliitical arena with all the federal investigations going on in Progreso and Donna ISD’s. If you click on the link below and read all about the SBCISD
It will be interesting to find out how it is all connected. You will read towards the very bottom where it mentions the board president.
In that bidding, two other companies were ranked…….

Have any other tax payers noticed the school cop at Veterans that rushes out of the school at four, then camps out in his school furnished truck while the parents are all madly talking on their cell phones, and traffic nearly running into each other, and running over the students while this guy “guards” an open faculty parking lot,he gets a good nap,I’ve watched. This has been going on since the first semester, nobody seems concerned about it,do something Gilbert.

All these haters now coming out? I bet you are the same ones who support these four in spending taxpayer dollars for two superintendents and paying a law firm thousands to investigate complaints that only the SBCISD board know about? So, the four demote the police chief and still pay him $60K a year? Why weren’t the complaints shown to the public? I would assume that this police chief has done what is asked of him to ensure the security of the school district. I am sure that he has been fair in what he does and has had some complaints against them that have been investigated and cleared. I believe like him that this is political since no complaints have been brought forth to the public and the taxpayers of the school district. This school board which is run by this power hungry mongrel and her three are now committing political suicide, as far as I’m concerned. I just wonder how much is the public going to put up with four supposedly educated individuals who waste taxpayer money and allow one power hungry mongrel to screw up the school district?

60Gs for driving around, parking in a field doing nothing, driving around off campus visiting unofficial places while on the clock. I commend you for lasting as long as you did. Politics, scandal, who knows who, who knows what, it all gets you somewhere.

La Rola, Jack, Celeste … All over paid and shady. Get rid of them all.

How funny that he claims it was politics that ousted him. I remember very clearly in 2004 that it was Limon, and his committee that hired him. It was politics then that landed him the job; I didn’t hear an outcry from him. Back then you had, Oscar De La Fuente, and Joe Gonzales that helped him get the job. They long gone along with Limon! This guy was a joke from the beginning.

I don’t live in San Benito anymore, but when I was down there to visit for Christmas, I witnessed a SBCISD cop roll through a stop sign without his head lights on. Maybe it is a good time for change, in order to uphold the law, our officers should lead by example.

  1. It’s about time. Now they can get a real CHIEF OF POLICE. Next is the city they need a real CHIEF OF POLICE.

Hopefully now we can bring in someone from outside the school district that can go around an make sure all police officers and security are there doing the job that they were hired to do and rotate the officers around to work in all the schools we have to protect the children and staff and property that belongs to sbcisd.

  2. Finally looks like the board ( let me guess 4-3) is making head way by looking out for the safety of our children because the chief” joke” Garcia is clearly a waste of taxes payers dollars!
Thanks to Mr. Limon for protecting his boy for years and ignoring the safety of our staff and children.
Its simple folks, what goes around comes around and this is just the beginning for the chief!!
