Luis O. Villarreal Jr. was born on March 5, 1963 in San Benito, Texas. He learned the value of family and hard work as he performed various jobs starting at the age of 5 when his aunts would pay him to wash cars. As a teen and young adult he worked in the family store and trained drug dogs. He then served as a body guard and other security related positions until he joined the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office which allowed him, for 20 years, to fulfill his true desire to serve and protect as a deputy sheriff. Lou believed in treating all people with dignity and respect. He modeled these values in every area of life as he believed “everybody is recovering from something”.

He is survived by his wife Ruth (Frye) Villarreal; brothers, Jesse, Marco and Adrian, their wives and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Luis was called to a higher duty to serve in the house of the Lord on December 18, 2013 where he will be spending Christmas with his son, Luis O. Villarreal III “Luby”, and his parents, Delia and Luis.

Visitors were welcomed from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Porter Loring Mortuary North, with the family available for visitors at 6:00 p.m. The service began at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the Villarreal family requests that donations be made to a local non-profit organization that serves youth or an animal rescue of your choice.
