The future of the South Texas Youth Stock Show remains in question as organizers of the event await an official response from the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District on the use of the Sonny Brazil Agricultural Complex at the San Benito Veterans Memorial Academy.

According to Kathy Rike of the STYSS, the organization submitted a request to hold the annual stock show at the VMA facility but have yet to receive a response from the district.

They should publish more about their business status on the STYSS web site. Are they a nonprofit, association or what? Do they have board members that live in the City of San Benito? Who are they sponsored by? Maybe this is why the City was reluctant to continue to endorse their venture.
I checked but didn’t find the ‘South Texas Youth Stock Show’ registered with the Texas Secretary of State, nor could I find any filings of the IRS 990 form, (for nonprofits) for them either. Curious.
