Basically, Joe Hernandez just does not care what anybody thinks! He is in it for himself and nobody else. He has been in politics for over ten years and what has he really, really done for the city except kept the city in the news for all the bad reasons? The only reasons the streets are being worked on is because he is up for re-election.

He wants the swimming pool and splashpad so bad that he probably does not care how much it costs or how the city is going to pay for it, or that according to http://www.cityofsanbenito.com/ , we are under Stage Two of the City’s Water Conservation Ordinance. What part of all these does he not understand? He just does not care!

The Chinese were not interested in investing in San Benito, major retail companies don’t want to invest in San Benito, so now they are going after the rich Mexican investors. Voters will get suckered into reelecting him because he will blame all his problems on everybody else but himself because……He just does not care what anybody thinks!!!!!!

    Have a good weekend!

When I saw the picture and read the caption, I felt embarrassment for our little town. Our mayor, at such a prestigious occasion, looked totally out of place. Maybe he should leave the mayor’s job to a person who realizes that events where state reps will be attending are IMPORTANT and that a suit is the mode of dress for IMPORTANT EVENTS!!!!

My mother always said, it’s better to be over dressed than under dressed. It’s no wonder that, as a town between the behemoths of Harlingen and Brownsville, we’re not taken seriously. Joe Hernandez looked like he was ready to cut their hair, not represent a town as its mayor. How many more months and years is this excuse for a leader going to lead us?

I was going to make a rude comment…..but never mind! The question remains:

What are they staring at? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it the unveiling of the new flag for San Benito? Is it the grand opening of a new finance company on main street? Is it the new street cleaner that seems to have disappeared from sight? Someone please tell me!

    Break over, back to work!
