San Benito CISD employees have come to the aid of a family mourning the tragic loss of a teenage girl who attended local schools.
Seventeen-year-old Emelia “Emily” Martinez died Thursday, June 27, after she was struck by a pickup truck in the vicinity of Robertson and Diaz Street. Detective Rogelio Banda Jr. of the San Benito Police Department has stated that investigators are not pursuing criminal charges against the driver of the pickup truck, a 67-year-old man whose identity has not been released as of presstime Tuesday.

the girl was listening to music on her earphones and wasn’t paying attention while crossing the street
Maybe so, but it doesn’t lessen the grief felt by her family or the driver of the pickup.
Thank you SBCISD employees who, once again, come to the aid of yet another family in the community. Y’all are awesome!!!
