Shown is a scene from last year’s Texas Independence Day Celebration, in which the Battle of the Alamo was reenacted.

Re-enactors mount up, Uncle San Benito wants you.

Jack Ayoub and Wayne Powell of the Texas Historic Independence Celebration Association will man a booth at the 2013 ResacaFest on Saturday in hopes of recruiting men and women interested in participating in historic battle reenactments.

  1. It’s a small word.

Tried to get them already . . problem is San Antonio & Austin also celebrate Texas Independence Day on the same weekend, and re-enactors are already committed to those two sites. Not much of a choice between San Antonio and San Benito.

  2. Why don’t you invite re-anctors from San Antonio who have already re-acted the Battle of the Alamo in San Antonio thus brings more people to the event thus bringing in more food booths and more money into the economy. Contact the Daughters of the Republic of Texas . They’ll bring their trailers costumes families and friends. We’ll have fireworks!
