The bible school will take place all week at the First Baptist Church, located at the 400 block of Bristol Avenue from 5 to 9 p.m.
“At 5 o’clock the children will be able to have a meal,” said Heather Cathleen Cox, a volunteer for the program. “We’ll serve them some food. After that, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., there will be different activities and lessons. There will be arts and crafts, there will be music.”
The program began its week long activities on Monday, June 17. When asked about the enrollment, Cox said that as of last week approximately 50 kids had registered – a number which is expected to increase significantly.
“Today is going to be the very first day,” she said Monday. “We were setting up all week last week to get ready for the kids. I think that over 50 kids had pre-registered by the middle of last week. I think we’re expecting around 200 to 300 kids. Last year we ran out of room in the little chapel, so this year we are going to be having everything in the main sanctuary. Hopefully there are a lot of kids.”
