The common theme concerning the future of the San Benito CISD superintendent position, at least according to two members on the Board of Trustees, is uncertainty.

As an investigation remains pending into matters she said are of “concern,” Board Secretary June Aguilera said on Tuesday she was “not sure” when or if the board would begin discussing the future of the superintendent post, which is currently being filled by Alfonso Obregon in an interim capacity. In the meantime, Antonio G. Limón remains on paid administrative leave as the district’s Superintendent of Schools following a controversial 4-3 split vote at the May 23 special meeting.

“I’m not sure,” Aguilera said when asked about Limón. When asked if board members have already looked into a replacement for Limón, she added, “Those are just rumors. We haven’t talked about anything yet, but I do know the last time we were looking into certain things that were a concern for us.”

Hector Leal, a fellow trustee and longest serving member of the board at 21 years, said the future of the superintendency depends largely on the will of four board members, including Aguilera.

The whole administration at SBCISD should be reevaluated. Sure like to see who signed off on the interim supt. salary…oh wait… how about the PURCHASING AGENT as he is reallll close to certain board members…remember he is also a board member in a neighboring district… Just look at the video of all that is done at the MAIN OFFICE.
Principal has time to make jewelry… no way…. I hope those faculty members who have been reassigned speak up… Hope they all speak at the board meeting on Friday at public comment…. starts at 7:00 p.m. that is until “No Comment” president changes her mind…. Whatever happen to FOLLOWING BOARD POLICY… oh I forgot, not while MRS. RODRIGUEZ is president.

SBCISD is a laughing stock of the valley. Just ask the people at the Texas Education Agency.

The interim is earning the same amount as former supt. Limon. By the way, that salary was never decided upon at a board meeting… Someone just told the business office to pay him that amt. This is a clear violation of the open meetings act!
Many things are happening in this district in violation of policies and laws. For example, did you know that a middle school principal makes jewelry and then sells it to the faculty? This is the same faculty this principal evaluates and gives employment contracts to. This person has transferred up to 16 faculty off the staff so far this summer. Could it be that these few aren’t regular customers? Isn’t this a friable offense on the part of the principal. Interim supt. obregon has already been made aware of this violation. This principal basically held the staff hostage. Editor, please look into this issue. Why are these board members allowing these things to happen? Imagine what would happen if the teachers who were transferred sue the district claiming that they were moved because they didn’t buy jewelry from the boss. Wow!

I just read the SBNEWSPAPER. The school board has not started the investigation? Check that again please. Hearing that they have all ready started. Good luck mr. Limon. You and your attorney deserve all the money you will be asking for… Those 4 have gone out of their way to hurt you financially. Go get’em
