It is never too early to begin preparing for football season, especially when you are from San Benito.
The San Benito Greyhounds are well into their Spring Football program, and Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Spencer Gantt is already setting high expectations for his young team.
“We’re looking good,” Gantt said. “Kids are really coming around. We’re getting better and better.”
The coach said the team will be young next year but has confidence in the players’ abilities. “We’re going to have to replace a lot of spots,” Galvan said. “But the kids are really going out there and competing.”
Gantt is looking to replace 32 graduating seniors, 14 of whom were starters, but there is no shortage of talent in San Benito. Especially considering that the junior varsity squad won a district championship this past season.
