A Los Fresnos man was arrested Monday after police said he had attempted to enter hotel guests’ rooms in San Benito and was later observed in a restricted section of the United States Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency.
It was at 3:15 a.m. Monday, April 29, that officers with the San Benito Police Department responded to the Super 8 Motel, located on the 2300 block of W. Expressway 83, concerning “a suspicious male subject attempting to enter some of the hotel rooms,” SBPD Det. Rogelio Banda Jr. reported in a news release.
“He was inquiring about renting a room for the night, and once he was given the rates by the clerk he just walked out of the building,” Banda said of the suspect, who the detective added was – at one point – “trying to force his way” into guests’ rooms. Banda further noted that although the suspect managed to enter one room the guest who was staying there “ran him out.”
