Jack W. Hall

Jack W. Hall, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in Sodalis Assisted Living in Cuero, TX, after a fight against heart disease. Born in Waco, Texas, April 3, 1929 to Claude and Lillian Hall, Jack lived his life as an educator and mentor to young people. He was a high school coach for Nacogdoches High School and for Lyford High School in the 1950’s, a high school principal at Lyford High School, assistant principal at Bridgeport High School, and principal at Mount Pleasant High School in the 60’s and 70’s. Jack later served as school superintendent for San Benito ISD from 1973-1992 when he retired and moved to New Braunfels.

He is survived by his son, Carl Hall of Rockport, TX; and daughter, Vicky Andrews, of Ingleside, TX; along with his daughter-in-law, Kim Hall, and son-in-law, Scott Andrews. Jack has three grandchildren: Jay Hall (wife Ashli Ott Hall) of Greenville, TX; Cara Hall of Santa Clarita, CA; and Jason Gonzales of Austin, TX. He also has three great-grandchildren: Ali Hall, Luella Hall, and Jane Hall, all of Greenville, TX.

Visitation will be held at New Braunfels Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home on Saturday, March 13 (family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.) and Sunday, March 14 from noon to 8 p.m. (family receiving friends from 2:00-6:00 p.m.) and a graveside service on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Mountain Valley Cemetery at 2 p.m.
