CONSIDER THIS: I’m your Huckleberry

Imagine, if you will, a general office setting – let’s say an advertising agency – filled with employees furiously typing away comfortably behind their cubicles. Their trusty Dallas Cowboys coffee mug is nearby, an iPod player sits next to their computer and their cell is always kept handy for… whatever. But one day, you spot something that’s out of place: an employee not pulling his or her own weight. Still, you blow it off and think, “Well, maybe it’s just a bad day for them.”

Then four bad days pass, days that turn into weeks, weeks that turn into months then years – now you’re so annoyed with that employee that you’ve plotted their untimely demise in numerous ways. Perhaps you’ve even thought of a cool thing to say at the moment that you finally have them right where you want them, such as, “Say hello to my little friend,” or “I’m your huckleberry.”

Your moment of redemption finally comes. You now have proof of this employee’s intolerable work ethic, be it photographic evidence or a video. All you need to do is notify the boss.

There you are, dialing the number as furiously as you once typed before this terrible person entered your life, certain that all will be resolved once you get in contact with… the local record store owner?

Huh?

If you’re as confused as I am, then prepare to be prescribed anti-depressants for the rest of your natural life, because that same scenario is currently taking place in San Benito. If you’ve been living under a rock, allow me to spell it out for you. Apparently, there are employees of the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District, you know – that little academic entity tasked with educating our children and serving as the city’s largest employer – who report to Jesus “Chuy” Aguilera, owner of Chuy’s Custom Sports, instead of… oh, I don’t know, their immediate supervisors, department heads or, silly me for thinking this, the superintendent of schools.

Because that makes sense.

Excuse the sarcasm, but who are these people? Allow me to speak directly to them: What in the world are you guys doing? Seriously. Let’s think about this here. Say you’re scared of the superintendent and think the matter is too politically charged to bring to his attention; after all, he’s with “the other side,” right? Or could it be that you plainly don’t trust your supervisor, and maybe those snobby department heads are “in on it” as well? That leaves you with Chuy as the next logical choice?

I get that he’s the father of June Aguilera, Secretary of the Board of Trustees. So he must have some influence over his daughter, who is one of seven voices (currently six) serving as the highest authority in the district. (If you’re still confused here, I apologize, but I’m trying to make the illogical, logical for the sake of objectivity.) What those of you who seek out Chuy in these matters may not understand is that you’re helping to make a mockery out of the chain of command and crumbling the establishment of order. This is bad for everyone.

This, of course, is nothing against Chuy. The guy’s just taking calls. I hope he has unlimited minutes, by the way.

A while back, I wrote about creating a community that perpetuates lawlessness. Those of you at the John F. Barron Administration Building who are under the impression that it’s Chuy who signs your paychecks, please note that you’ve taken your first steps toward that route.

I’ll tell you what. Next time the microwave is broken in the break room, call me. I’m your huckleberry.

What? I heard from someone who works at the Administration building that they were going out for RFQ. When are they going to share the names of the attorneys who are applying?

If that dad is running his mouth, then it is probably true. All anyone has to do is request the information. That board of 4 needs to remember that the TAXPAYERS are paying for these trips. As someone said earlier, cameras are every where. Going to all conferences? What for? They have not learn one thing in the past 4 years. They had the best board consulant here a few months ago and all they did as smack their gum, text on their phones, and looked like they did not understand one thing.

If that board wants money up front some one might want to check board policy.
District credit card? You have got to be kidding. That is all this district needs is for those 4 to leave town on a SBCISD Credit card. Don’t let them do it mr superintendent. You better bet we are going to be asking. Just remember board of 4, your family and friends just love to talk.

Those four board members are like a bad virus that some us knew was going to spread out of control. Now, the only way to treat this virus is for people to vote smart in 2014. Unfortunately, a lot of damage will continue to be done till then. Is this the change some business people that did not support Tumberlinson, Smetter, and Lllanes expect? Mr. De la Fuente, Mr. M. Gonzalez, you are surely missed! Mr. Leal, Mr. Medrano, Mrs. Cruz, continue to ask questions and demand explanations for the public to hear.

Just heard at coffee shop where Chuy is now hanging around in that the traveling board- this board (4) is going to all major conferences. Rumor has it that board now wants money up front instead of reimbursement. Rumor has it they also want a district credit card when they travel. Trouble ahead!

The Special SCISD board meeting as usual started late. A total of 4 count them 4 minutes for this meeting. Fumbling 4 have caused this to happen, bills being paid late, stressed out employees and NO REGARD FOR THEIR ROLE. This is as shameful as it gets!

Nothing new. That board president ALWAYS starts the meetings LATE! Just check all board meeting minutes. Lucky for her, this time was Papi’s little girl’s fault.

Sad part is that the majority of SB voters are blind to this and most other issues. By the time they realized they voted for the wrong people its too late. SBCISD will be a mess by 2014.

Chuy doesn’t control anything. He’s out-of-control. All he’s doing is making his daughter look bad…well, worse than she’s doing herself. At least the school baord is educating the community on who not to vote for next election, and why. Thanks for the education, Gang of Four!

Yoli B, Chuy’s (Father of Board Member) cell phone # is 956-536-7185. Chuy himself posted his number on here. Hope this helps.

Does everyone know the Father Of the Board Member phone number? Since he “gets calls”, maybe he will get the call when the students have no breakfast and lunch. Maybe he will get calls from the baseball players parents because they have no bus to go to the out of town game because the fuel bill has not been paid. Maybe the vendors will call him when the district is late with the payments. Maybe the business office will call when they are out of paper to print checks. This board is beyond a joke. Remember board members we elected you and we can vote you out. Between now and August, this board will run this district to the ground. You just watch!

Well done Mr. Editor. Chuy get ready, calls are coming in when buses run out of fuel, when schools run out of all types of paper including bathroom, etc. Chuy we know you control the mindless four make them understand.

Thank you Mr. Editor for the EXCELLENT Article.
So we just watched the SBCISD Board Meeting Video on SBCISD YouTube and what a joke. That June lady needs to learn that when someone is talking, you do not interrupt. Where did she learn her matters? Well, after listening to her father talk at the Open Forum, I have my answer. Her disrespect of the 20 year SBCISD Board Member, Mr. Leal, is shameful. Mr. Leal and Mrs. Cruz asked very good questions of Mr. Liimon and Mrs. McCall. June and her GANG of 4 need to go back and review what the roles are of school board members. The superintendent is in charge of the district. Sound familiar? Well, it should be to the board members because they have attended numerous conferences to include Chicago (remember family members went) and have had numerous consultants give them training here at home.
Why in the world would June’s father mention Dr. Sylvia Atkinson? She is employed in BISD and is happy doing what she does. Maybe because the Board President and Dr. A have been discussing SBCISD? From what we hear, the cameras are watching.
The lady who spoke before Mr. A is to be commended. It takes guts to speak in front of this board because when someone speaks to them, they the gang of 4 want you fired.
And one last note, that insurance lady, who Mr. Limon gave a second chance to, needs to remember that she is not an elected official. She has a boss. The next time her favorite board member, June, calls her to speak, let’s have less drama.
Watch the video, SBCISD is going down the hole REAL Fast. May 2014 elections can not come any sooner.
