Economic growth through tourism was endorsed by Congressman Blake Farenthold Friday as he presented a $1 million check for cultural museum enhancement to city officials.
“San Benito is rich in cultural history and your museums showcase that,” he told a gathering of elected officials, Economic Development Corporation members and museums representatives. “Winter Texans and tourists from across the state come to San Benito, so you know the value of tourism,” he said.
By working together and incorporating groups to work toward a common goal you encourage tourists to “spend more time – and as important, money – in San Benito,” the congressman said.

fedup, i agree. if he truly cared about the image of the city, he would have changed and work more business appropriate attire.
Our Mayor needs to dress more professional in these photo ops when he is representing our City. He is always wearing his Barber Guayabera shirts. I am sure my nephew, who attends Miller Jordan, would not mind lending the mayor a suit & tie.
