Festivities have been plentiful in the community as the San Benito Fire Department continues to observe Fire Prevention Week.
From October 7-13, the SBFD is also hosting the annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest, which is a statewide competition.
This contest is open to all San Benito CISD students in grades Pre-K through 12th. The poster must be original and may be based on any phase of fire prevention. Only individual work done by students and only one entry per student will be accepted. Posters will be judged on workmanship, creativity, originality and overall message.

See? You don’t need a fire marshall for fire prevention! Firemen can work without a fire marshal! Heck, they’re working without a real chief too! Good job guys! Keep your heads up guys. Remember real chiefs or even “Operations Chiefs” never last long in San Burrito!
