San Benito police have reported that the parents of two children allegedly endangered on Thursday, one a four-year-old boy who was found wandering the streets and the other a three-month-old girl left strapped to a carseat inside her home, may have been the result of a “misunderstanding.”
“The father claims there was a misunderstanding between he and his wife, but according to the wife he knew she was going to take another one of their kids to the doctor’s office, so he was responsible for those children’s safety,” said Detective Rogelio Banda, Jr. of the San Benito Police Department.
Banda was referring to a case that culminated in the arrest of 29-year-old Juan Antonio Villafranca, the father of the aforementioned children he’s accused of endangering.
