A San Benito woman could be behind bars for a long time after allegedly running over her common law husband twice with a Chevrolet Equinox.
On Sunday, September 2, San Benito Police Department officers on patrol in response to a call of a possible disturbance at a residence on North McCullough, noticed Adelina Perez Martinez, 31, sitting in the driver’s seat of said Equinox, which was improperly parked.
Just before 3 a.m., on 1155 McCullough, “Martinez attempted to put the vehicle into gear and take off,” said SBPD Detective Rogelio Banda Jr., “but an officer was able to get her to stop.”
While officers questioned Martinez, “she began making incriminating statements,” said Banda.
