The expression ‘slower than molasses in January’ might be the best way to summarize Save Dolly’s progress since last reported.

Though San Benito Rotarian efforts to refurbish the once proud facility – better known to San Benitians as Dolly Vinsant Memorial Hospital – are presently at a stand-still, Save Dolly founder Lionel Betancourt has not given up hope.

Due in large part to unpaid taxes in the amount of over $500,000, five years ago Dolly Vinsant fell under the ownership of its three taxing entities: the City of San Benito, Cameron County, and San Benito CISD.
