gavelSandra Tumberlinson, a civic leader who argued she got removed from the San Benito Veterans Advisory Board due to political maneuvering, will likely be granted a grievance hearing at a later date.

The action came after an executive session that Mayor Joe H. Hernandez and city commissioners participated in during Tuesday’s regular city meeting regarding City Attorney Rick Morado’s advice pending and contemplated litigation. No action was taken afterwards.

As previously reported by the News, Tumberlinson was ousted from the Veterans Board by a unanimous vote from the commissioners in a regular meeting last month. She was replaced by police retiree Guadalupe Ayala.

To Sunchaz5, why reopen it? Because today it’s Sandra, tomorrow it is someone else. Why does anyone fight back when they’ve been wronged?

Sandra Tumberlinson is a dedicated teacher and community member. SHAME on this city commission for removing her. No CLASS at ALL!!!! Stand for what you know is right Sandra! You have our support and believe me, we are watching this mayor and his group of friends.
This city commission needs to get its act together… First the plaque that the mayor wanted and now this… This city is the laughing stock of the valley. Again, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER or no business is going to want to come to our city. We elected you and we want to see positive actions and not these mistakes like removing Sandra. Three months in office and this is the kind of moves you all make. HOW Embarrassing!!!

This city commission could care less what the citizens think. They are going to do whatever the mayor wants, they have already shown that.

Opps! Seems like someones’ ego has been hurt. Why should the Mayor/ Attorney
reopen a discussion on her removal? To both parties, ” Stop wasting the Citys time and MONEY on this>MOVE ON!

Speaking of ego, you must be confusing this article with mayor (i want my name on the plaque) hernandez who just wouldn’t move on until he got the plaque with his name on it now that he is pulling the strings on this puppet commission.
