Races left unresolved in the Democratic and Republican primaries were settled in runoff elections Tuesday.
The following are unofficial tallies with 100 percent of precincts reporting.
In the Democratic District 34 Congressional race, Filemon Vela was the victor over Denise Saenz-Blanchard, 15,625 votes to 7,824.
In the Republican race for the District 34 Congressional seat, Jessica Puente Bradshaw beat Adela Garza, 5,308 to 4,283. Garza reportedly conceded via telephone call.
The Democratic race for District 2 State Board of Education went to Ruben Cortez, Jr., who defeated Celeste Zepeda Sanchez, 20,252 to 19,794.
To secure the Democratic candidacy in the Cameron County District Attorney’s race, Luis V. Saenz was victorious over Carlos Masso by a narrow margin, 8,063 to 7,712.
