NEWS Staff Report
A website and magazine have been created in observance of the Eighth Annual San Benito Chamber of Commerce Kids Fishing Tournament.
Scheduled for Saturday, June 23, at the Heavin Resaca Trail, event details are now featured at the following website: http://www.sbfishing.mediarelay.com/
Found there are the articles featured in the tournament magazine, which was produced by the San Benito News and Chamber of Commerce and inserted in today’s edition.
Scheduled from 4-7:30 p.m., the tournament adheres to the rules and regulations of Texas Parks and Wildlife.
As is the case every year, first, second and third place prizes will be awarded. This year, children ages 4-15 may participate, free of charge, in three age divisions: 4-8 year olds, 9-12 year olds and 13-15 year olds. Three winners will be named, based on total weight of their catch, in each division. The child with the biggest catch in weight of all divisions will be the recipient of a grand prize pontoon – donated by the News and Tractor Supply – and named Grand Champion Angler of the tournament.
Free fishing rods and reels will be given away at 3:30 p.m. to the first 200 kids who arrive. To register, call San Benito Chamber of Commerce President Zeke Padilla at (956) 399-5321 or visit the Chamber office at 400 N. Travis St. in San Benito.
