RIO HONDO – Mayor Alonzo Garza has remained mum on allegations that he’s receiving preferential treatment from the Rio Hondo Police Department (RHPD) after a citizen complained that his vehicle registration and inspection stickers have long been expired but has yet to be ticketed.
An anonymous source provided the San Benito News with photographs showing Garza’s pickup truck parked outside the Rio Hondo Municipal Building and displaying the expired stickers, which were over a year old.
Amy Flores Tsoflias, 77, of Rio Hondo said she has also seen the photos and was reminded of when she received a ticket last year for having an expired inspection sticker.
