Dub this one the alumni Battle of the Arroyo.
The San Benito Greyhound alumni football team left Brownsville Saturday as the victors after defeating the Harlingen Cardinal alumni squad, 20-14.
San Benito players included former Greyhounds, such as TJ Rico, Polo Martinez, Jacob Garza, Jesse Garcia, Jesse Zavala, Fabian Rico, CJ Carrizalez, Brandon Marquez, Chris Preciado, Frank Serrata and more.
Frank, who was never able to play Greyhound football due to size and time conflictions, enjoyed the opportunity. “It was a good experience, because it was with a team I always wanted to play with and against a team I had always wanted to play against,” he said.
