Authorities from the Cameron County Sheriff’s Department continue the search for a man accused of attempted kidnapping in El Ranchito.
According to Sheriff Omar Lucio, the attempted kidnapping took place at Gloria’s Beauty Salon off of FM 1577 and U.S. Highway 281 at 11 p.m. Saturday, just before closing time.
The 50-year-old female victim was attacked from behind by a suspect while she was near her car.
The suspect reportedly began to force the woman into her vehicle, but Lucio said she managed to escape after nearly biting her assailant’s finger off.
