The City of San Benito has executed a construction contract in the amount of $741,635 with Cubco Con-struction, Inc. of Brownsville, to construct approximately 1,890 linear feet of storm sewer improvements along Robertson Street from Dick Dowling to McCullough.
The improvements will continue across property owned by the San Benito Housing Authority and termi-nate at a drainage channel located adjacent and parallel to the Union Pacific Railroad. Two 66-inch diameter storm sewers will be installed under the railroad tracks to serve as the outfall for other storm sewer im-provements. These proposed improvements lay the groundwork for future phases and well.
Ultimately, future storm sewers can connect to this downstream segment of storm sewers that will serve the area bounded by the Expressway 77/83, Sam Houston Blvd., the Union Pacific Railroad and McCul-lough Street.
