Dr. Laurence M. Hardy is looking for something.

Fueled by love for his mother, Florence McNeil Hardy, and admiration of her talent, Hardy’s journey has taken him from his home in Shreveport, Louisiana to his birthplace in Tulsa, Oklahoma and now here in San Benito, Texas, where he hopes to find what he believes may be lost artwork that Florence painted during the Great Depression.

A retired biologist at the age of 72, Hardy has devoted much of his time and funds to this search, finding little more than leads yet – with every discovery, albeit minuscule – hope that there’s more of his mother’s work out there… somewhere.

You might pass onto the son that I have a handcrafted Navajo silver pin with the name Florence M. Hardy inlaid with turquoise and coral. If his mother travelled to the Southwest this might have been hers.

    1. Gary:
. Thanks for the note. Yes, she travelled widely in the southwest. Would it be possible to send me a photo of the item. Do you know when it was made? and possibly who made it? Are you living in San Benito now?
