San Benito City Commissioners will be considering an action to create a committee to study the possibility of amending the City Charter.
According to Mayor Joe H. Hernandez, there are areas that need clarification.
“There are a lot of sections in the charter that are very vague and hard to enforce,” he said. “What we need is basic English. This will be used by anyone who benefits from it.”

The mayor probably wants to change the part that says THE MAYOR MUST PAY HIS TAXES OR GET OUT!! Instead he should be worrying about: #1 Bringing business to San Benito! #2 Cleaning up our city! #3 Developing a better image! #4 Preventing crime! #5 Beautify our city! #6 Working together with the school district #7 Leaving the Jack Garcia issue alone!…so petty!! Get over it!! #8 Leave politics out of city hall!! #9 Learn the proper attire for a mayor. (guayaveras don’t cut it) #10 Learn how to run a meeting!! ……and on, and on, and on!!!!!!
