The decline of downtown San Benito is rapidly occurring and signs of an uptrend are nowhere in sight, business owners fear.
Earlier this month two established businesses, Gisela’s Beauty Salon and the New Noe’s Restaurant – both located on Robertson Street which is also considered as part of the downtown area – were temporarily closed due to a fire that consumed said establishments. Meanwhile, the closing of Papa Murphy’s has also hurt downtown Sam Houston Boulevard.
