Attendees and onlookers of Friday morning’s Veterans Day parade and ceremony in San Benito enjoyed a noticeably bigger march featuring more participation than in recent memory, this before the procession made its way to the new San Benito Veterans War Memorial off Rowson Street. Veterans Day was observed throughout the United States on Nov. 11. (Photos by Joe Bocanegra)

Although, ceremonies are nice, I think the people should become more active in demanding better benefits for the veteran. We put up the most important asset that anybody has and that was our life. Ready to die for our country and yet we get a bueacracy that prevents good benefits to veterans. Politicians have better better benefits and retirement then a veteran or a disabled veteran. Vote them all out and elect only those that are willing to work for the benefit of the veteran. Yes, rallies and ceremonies are nice, if that’s all you have to do.
