Family remembers Deacon Briones as loving figure

Ask any Catholic parishioner in or around San Benito, and they’ll tell you that Margarito Galvan Briones inspired them at one point in their life.

Throughout his life, Briones, 84, lived to serve the country, the church, and the community before his recent death in October. Family members described him as a big family man, as well as a man of faith, which showed through his involvement with the church. He taught the meaning of hard work, the value of education, the value of respect, and most of all, to love the Lord and our neighbors, family members said.
