In an exclusive interview with the San Benito News, longtime Berta Cabaza Middle School teacher Sandra Tumberlinson spoke candidly on the assault charges levied against her by a student.
As first reported on www.sbnewspaper.com Thursday, Tumberlinson was arraigned the morning of Oct. 27 on class “C” misdemeanor charges of “assault by physical contact” – allegations which stem from an Oct. 11 incident on campus.

i hate mrs. tumberlinson she should be fired foreverrr!!!!!!
Ok School Board daddy or not who is she to put her hands on students .What If was your child MR. J> RODRIGUEZ ? What will you do then ? Please dont say you will leave alone cause you will just make a fool of your self. Look out for what is going on in the schools dont just say stuff . I know I worked for the district and belive me I saw a lot of stuff just SWEPT under the Rug its time for a new SUPER not a judge .
Ms. Garcia: If you saw a lot of stuff just SWEPT under the Rug, why did you not do anything about it? Are you not a responsible person that does not want injustices to exist?: Why did you not speak out against such injustices? You said nothing . . . you did nothing. Speaks volumns about you as a person.
I will be voting for Mr. Tumberlinson in May 2012….guaranteed!!!
And I will work for your campaign sir!! This whole incident is ridiculous!! I AM MAD AS HELL!! And I also hope someone new and fair will run against Justice of the Peace David Garza!! IT’S TIME FOR A NEW JP!!!!
I agree with you Armadillo. This Jade person (lol) has NO clue about how schools operate and the extreme of responsibilities teachers have. It’s very obvious this person is politically blinded. The ones avoiding taking to take responsibility are the kids parents. They should have disciplined their kid and moved on, especially since daddy is a school board member (lol). Doesn’t he know about policies and rules??? How he got elected to the school board member is beyond me. All I know is that this incident reinforces my support for Mr. Bob Tumberlinson…yes the husband of Mrs. Tumblerlinson. We need educated not ignorant people on the board! YOU HAVE MY VOTE MR. T!!!
Who has the AUTHORITY to Hire and Fire and Suspend and Reinstate?
Why was the Frank Roberts Teacher suspended during the investigation?
And why was Mrs. Tumberlinson NOT suspended during her investigation?
Why is it, that the Frank Roberts Teacher was reinstated the same day that
Mrs. Tumberlinson was arraigned and charged with a Misdemeanor?
Why would she make contact with a student that is NOT in her classroom?
How could she make contact with a student NOT even in the same grade level she teaches? Students are in different hallways according to their grade level * records at the campus will be preponderance evidence of this.

Why wasn’t the student’s hair addressed by HIS OWN Teachers or Coaches?
I’m SORRY but it seems Mrs. Tumberlinson is trying to avoid taking responsibility for her illegal conduct with a STUDENT and MINOR and the only defense she has, is to turn the Charges against her into a political issue.
Mrs. Tumberlinson – no one is above the Texas Administrative Code.
This only clarifies how Politically Affiliated you and your husband are – so sad.
It is very obvious by your comments that you have no idea how a school works and what the responsibilities of the teachers are.
And by your knowledge of the Frank Roberts teacher incident, I can tell you have inside information, therefore, your blog is intentionally motivated to defame Mrs. Tumberlinson and should be seen as such….a political set up by the opposing side to discredit a teacher doing her job.
