Two plead guilty in murder-for-hire plot

Two men involved in the March 31 murder for hire plot of Rio Hondo schoolteacher Sonia Perez, allegedly orchestrated by the victim’s husband Julio Cesar Perez, have pled guilty.

Thirty-eight year-old Daniel Lopez, the accused triggerman in the crime, was sentenced on Thursday to life in prison without parole. According to reports, Lopez avoided the death penalty by agreeing to cooperate with the prosecution of other defendants, one of whom Julio Cesar Perez.
