The San Benito Consolidated Independent School District has plans this Saturday to hold a dedication ceremony for the opening of Angela Gerusa Leal Elementary, located on FM 732.
Family members of Leal, the school’s namesake who passed away this summer, will be on-hand during the ceremony, which will posthumously recognize the former teacher and school administrator.
An educator of over 40 years in the San Benito school district before retiring in 1986, Leal’s name was chosen to grace the school by majority vote of the school board.
