City budgets 2011-2012 fiscal year

city logoThe City of San Benito general fund budget approved for fiscal year 2011-2012 amounts to $9,765,378 in total expenditures, just $355,272 more than the year prior.

Total revenues numbered $9,765,377. Such revenues included $3,713,203 in total property taxes, up from $3,346,697 in 2010-2011; and $4,067,887 in non-property taxes which is also up from the previous year when the figure was at $3,748,502.

Revenue decreases came in total fees and services, $602,400 down from $894,311, and total licenses and permits, $415,300 down from $582,061.

Concerning expenditures, the city budgeted $14,780 for the commission’s expenses, up from $9,441; $1,114,952 in city management, also up from $614,067. The police budget went up to $2,963,849 from $2,948,611.

Budget decreases in expenditures came for public relations, $8,927 down from $23,403; personnel/civil services, $100,816 down from $118,929; code enforcement, $307,839 down from $315,308; and the fire department, $1,766,867 down from $1,800,524.

The largest cuts came in streets maintenance, $1,146,930 down from $1,205,192; and public grounds maintenance, $369,339 down from $490,328.
