The City of San Benito is currently seeking requests for qualifications (RFQs) for engineering services.
“I can’t speak for any other members of the commission. I can only speak for myself when I say this: It’s nothing personal against Mr. (Victor) Gutierrez as a professional and a person,” said Mayor Jack Garcia of the current engineer contracted with the city. “I think he’s been very professional. My take on this is that I find it very difficult to believe that we do not have qualified engineers in the area.”
Garcia said that the reason for seeking applicants for an engineer is due to the distance Gutierrez, who is based out of Corpus Christi, must travel.
