Joe G. Gonzalez announced his intentions Monday to seek reelection to the San Benito CISD School Board of Trustees, Place 4.

He will be seeking his fifth term in office.

Gonzalez stated in a press release that in order to have a successful district one needs to have several factors. Those include having a vision for student success, which includes providing facilities, and all the tools necessary for students. Another factor is the board and superintendent working together as a team of eight.

Gonzalez also cited several accomplishments during his tenure as a school board member. Besides new schools, he mentioned the additions and renovations of several campuses, such as the Shepherd D. “Sonny” Brazil Agricultural Complex, the maintenance complex which houses most district employees, a health clinic for district employees, the KSBG TV station, Bobby Morrow Stadium, competitive wages for professional staff, and annual raises for non-professional staff.
