St. Augustine once said, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” Rich Pietrogallo, 64, has read quite a bit.

Pietrogallo has been a personal trainer in the Valley for three years and in that time has gathered clientele from Brownsville to La Feria.

However, before he came to the southernmost tip of Texas, he had his share of travel. From 1966-1970 Pietrogallo served as a sergeant in the Air Force. At the age of 19 he enlisted and was stationed at Forbes Air Base in Topeka, Kansas.

“I am a Vietnam War veteran who never went to Vietnam,” Pietrogallo said. “Lucky for me.”
