What could be better than a Rolex? How about a big, shiny Grand Champion Steer belt buckle?
That’ll have to do for 16-year-old Victoria Guzman and her 1,220 pound steer, Rolex, who took home the Grand Champion Steer award on Friday at the South Texas Youth Stock Show (STYSS) in San Benito.
“We’ve had him (Rolex) since June, but when we got him he was about seven-months-old,” said Guzman, an 11th grader at San Benito High School. “It was an awesome feeling. It was something new, I had never placed so high before. It just felt good after all the hard work and dedication that has been put into raising this animal that I was able to be rewarded.”
