Authorities with the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) continue searching for a San Benito man who allegedly escaped from a Three Rivers, Texas federal prison camp in September.

According to DOJ Public Affairs Officer Angela Dodge, no new information has been received regarding the whereabouts of alleged escapee Secundino Mata, Jr. of San Benito, who authorities said escaped on Sept. 16, 2010 from a federal prison camp in Three Rivers, where he was serving 14 years and seven months on drug and money laundering charges.

“According to the official public record of the case, there is no additional info other than what was in the release regarding Mata and his whereabouts,” Dodge said in an email.
