It was a bit more exciting than the coach would have liked but the Lady ’Hounds of San Benito are sitting at 4-0 in District 32-5A play after a 39-32 win over Weslaco Tuesday night.

“I think they just like making me worry,” said a happy Head Coach Clarisse Arredondo. “But I knew that as much defense as we threw at them that they would come right back at us just as hard.”

Both teams entered play with a 3-0 record in the district and both came in with the reputation that hardnosed defense would provide enough chances for the offense to score points and win. The Lady ’Hounds forced 12 turnovers in the first quarter and converted that into 18 points as they took an 18-9 lead after a quarter of play.
