The San Benito Youth Stock Show (SBYSS) is back in 2011 with a four-day event slated Thursday through Sunday, Jan. 20-23.
Kathy Rike, Director of Events and Entertainment for the stock show, said, “We’re going to have a full show. We will go all day Friday, Saturday, and we have a horse show on Sunday that will probably go until about noon.”
So far the stock show has already received close to 150 entries, and according to Rike most schools that want to participate in the show will not put their packages together until they get back from the holiday vacation. The deadline to enter the show is set for Friday, Jan. 7.
“The City of San Benito has been working hard to get everything fixed up for us out there. I was out there at the grounds (Monday) morning, they’ve cleaned everything up,” said Rike. “We’re putting in new sand, and we’ll start setting up everything this coming weekend. The 4-H and the FFA groups in that area have volunteered to come out and help us work on those areas on Saturday setting everything up.”
