SAN BENITO, TX—Ofelia Corkill Sanchez, 91, passed away on December 26, 2010, at Retama Manor in Harlingen.
She was a lifetime resident of San Benito.
She was preceded in death by her parents
Frank and Elvira Corkill; stepmother Olivia Corkill; husband Simon
Sanchez; son Carlos Sanchez; sister Minerva
Vasquez; brothers Lois Corkill, Frank Corkill and Ramiro Corkill.
She is survived by her daughter Yolanda Arellano
(Emet); four sisters Elvira Guerra (Rodolfo),
Viola Gonzalez, Olga Rodriguez (Rudy) and Irma Tamez (Raul); brother Ruben Corkill; daughter-in-law Rosie Sanchez; sister-in-law Gloria Corkill; numerous nieces and nephews.
Church services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito. Burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Retama Manor Nursing Home for the care and service.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Henry Thomae Funeral Home, 701 N. Bowie San Benito, TX; 399-9992.

I’m Ofelia’s 1st Grand Daughter, Terrie, Carlos Sanchez’ 1st Born. I was so saddened for the loss of my grandmother. It was unfortunate that I was not able to attend for I live in California. I need to let others know that Ofelia has 5 Grand Children & 6 + Great Grand Children. We will miss our Grandma. May she live in happiness in the her next life.
