MERCEDES, TX—Luis P. Banuelos, 88, passed away on January 6, 2012 at McAllen Heart Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his wife Herminia Banuelos, parents Domingo Banuelos and Maria Davila Capratulo, his eldest daughter Gloria Banuelos, and granddaughter Angelita Maria Reynolds.
He is survived by two sons Luis (Sylvia) Banuelos, Ricardo (Mari) Banuelos, both of Mercedes, TX; three daughters Alma Gloria (Vicente) Reynolds of Greenfield, IN; Esperanza (James) Carpenter of Bryan, TX; Lucy (Juan) Falcon of McAllen, TX; two sisters Sulema Cantu of Harlingen, TX; and Maria Elena Martinez of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Banuelos was a World War II Veteran and served in the United States Air Force in the Phillipines.
Visitation will be held on Thursday at Garcia & Trevino Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with at rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Mercedes. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Garcia & Trevino Funeral Home of Mercedes.
