Ramiro Becerra Sr.

Ramiro Becerra Sr., 95, of San Benito, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.

Ramiro was born on December 13, 1917 in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to his parents Jose Roberto Becerra and Margarita De La Cerda. He came to Driscoll, Texas at the age of 6, where he lived for 24 years. He met his loving wife Amalia Jackson Becerra of 66 years; they married and then moved to San Benito, Texas where together they raised four sons. Ramiro was a wonderful loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his wife Amalia Jackson Becerra; his parents Jose Roberto Becerra and Margarita De La Cerda; sisters Natalia Becerra and Guadalupe B. De Leon.

He is survived by his four sons: Ramiro (Maria) Becerra, Jr.; Jose R. (Dora) Becerra, Rodolfo (Juanita) Becerra, and Rolando (Adalia) Becerra; and his brother, Diego (Angelita) Becerra of Austin, Texas; and 14 grandchildren: David Becerra, Maricela Cervantes, Ricardo Becerra, Maggie Rivera, Rolando Becerra, Jr.; Rita Villarreal, Danny Becerra, Jose R. Becerra, Jr.; Rodolfo Becerra, Jr.; Gloria Aguilar, Adrian Becerra, Gilberto Becerra, Betty Becerra, and Jesse Becerra. He is also survived by 27 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2 and Thursday, January 3, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.

Mass of resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2012 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be his sons, grandsons, and family members.
