Lady 'HoundsShe’s just your normal everyday girl, but she’s got a spike that will send a grown man running.

That’s perhaps the best way to describe the players that make up the 2012 San Benito Lady Greyhound varsity volleyball team.

Due to re-districting, the competition on the court has changed now that the lady ’Hounds find themselves in 31-5A, but the team’s hunger has not subsided.

Returning from a successful season, the Lady ’Hounds hope to do even better than their second place outing last year. Varsity Coach Ruby Medina said their goal is to “continue into playoff traditions and improve on last year’s success.” Of course, winning a district championship is the ultimate goal. Coach Medina added, “This year we are young, but hungry and expecting seniors to take the leadership role.”
